1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using HanDoan ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use HanDoan. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. User Conduct

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

• Generate content involving minors in sexual or otherwise harmful contexts.
• Generate non-consensual sexual content involving real people.
• Generate content promoting violence, self-harm, terrorism, or illegal activity.
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users.
• Distribute spam, malware, or attempt to disrupt service availability.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract model weights or prompts not your own.

4. Content Ownership

You own the characters and chat content you create. By making a character public you grant other users a license to chat with and "clone" it within the Service. Operators retain the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

5. AI Output

AI-generated responses are produced by language models. They may be inaccurate, offensive, or inconsistent. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions. You are responsible for how you use AI output.

6. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms without prior notice. You may delete your account at any time via the Account settings.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HanDoan's total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the preceding 12 months.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

• Account data: email, display name, password (hashed), and any persona / bio you provide.
• Content data: characters you create, chat messages, stories, voice clips, images you upload.
• Usage data: chat counts, last-active timestamps, like history, follow relationships.
• Technical data: IP address, user agent, session cookie.

2. How We Use It

• To operate the chat/call/story features (sending your messages to AI models).
• To compute recommendations, trending, and feeds.
• To enforce site rules (banlist, moderation reports).
• To send notifications you've opted into.

3. Third-Party Processors

To produce AI responses we may send your messages to model providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or self-hosted endpoints you have configured. Voice features may transit OpenAI Whisper (transcription) and OpenAI TTS (speech). These providers' privacy policies apply to your data while in transit.

4. Storage

Your data is stored in our database (SQLite or Postgres depending on deployment) and optionally in object storage (Cloudflare R2 for uploaded images / audio). Encrypted in transit via HTTPS.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Public characters, profiles, and feed activity you've opted to publish are visible to other authenticated users. We may disclose data to comply with legal process.

6. Your Rights

You can:

• View and edit your account/persona data in Account Settings.
• Delete a character to remove its content from the Service.
• Request full account deletion by emailing [email protected].
• Export your chat transcripts via the ⬇ Export chat menu item.

7. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

We will note significant changes here with an updated "Last updated" date.
